Getting boba one last time with a friend and watching the sunset at Cascades Park in Tallahassee Florida.
Wow! I can’t believe there’s less than 48 hours before I head off to Australia. As someone who hasn’t traveled internationally in years, this whole process is going to be quite foreign to me. I’m feeling a mix of emotions right now. I’m extremely nervous and conflicted whether this is the right choice for me, but at the same time I’m excited to have the opportunity to explore someplace new and expand my horizons.
Today, I finally started to pack. Don’t worry, I’ve been spending the past couple of weeks deciding on what items and clothes I should bring. Although, my anxiety has me constantly thinking, “Will this item be accepted by customs or not?” I know that realistically, I probably won’t encounter any issues at customs, but after accidentally bringing a pair of scissors to TSA once, I do have a little bit of “trauma.” To stay on the safe side, I’m choosing to pack light (at least for me). I plan on bringing a backpack, a carry-on, and a small checked bag. Hopefully, that’ll be enough for my four month stay.
I do hope that my checked bag will make it to Australia. I’ve heard far too many stories about checked bags getting lost and because of that, I’m going to pack it with non-essentials or articles of clothing that I could easily replace, should that happen. My carry-on will contain the bulk of my clothes, while my backpack will have my electronics, documents, and camera equipment. I’m very excited to bring my camera to Australia, I can only imagine all the wonderful pictures and memories I’ll capture.
This might be the last post I publish before I leave for Australia, but I plan on documenting my travel day in a post later down the road (maybe it will be the next post). With that said, I’ll see you guys down under!
